Bruno was the Vice-President of BALA for the 2019 Term. Bruno is currently a Foreign Legal Consultant at Quinn Emanuel Urquhart & Sullivan LLP in New York City. Prior to joining Quinn Emanuel, Bruno worked for 9 (nine) years as the General Counsel at of a major subsidiary of Queiroz Galvão from 2008 to 2017. At Queiroz Galvão, Bruno focused his practice mostly on corporate (included business law, business organizations, M&A and private equity), real estate, financial transactions and complex litigation. Due to “Operação Lava Jato” in Brazil (also known as “Car wash Operation”) in which Queiroz Galvão was under investigation, he also acquired relevant experience in corporate investigations, anti-corruptions enforcement as well as in compliance, by developing and implementing compliance programs.
Before his experience as General Counsel, he worked for 3 (three) years as a partner for a boutique law firm “Soares Correia” specialized in complex litigation and corporate law. As a partner, he was responsible for handle the complex litigation cases and also to advise clients on corporate matters. A relevant experience at that time was to represent a foreign investment group who went to Brazil to invest in the hotel’s industry, having Bruno worked on various projects such as hotel’s construction contracts, hotel’s purchases, private placement, leasing and rental areas. During his graduation and for 4 (four) years he worked as a trainee for a large law firm called “Urbano Vitalino” in which he was part of the team responsible for complex commercial disputes. Despite the invitation to become an associate at the firm, Bruno preferred to join the boutique law firm mentioned above in which he would be able to have a close approach to its clients and a better understanding of the cases. Bruno’s capacity to dialogue with his peers, market players and government added by his constant effort to promote a better market environment granted him great invitations. He was invited to become the Legal Advisor for an association formed by real estate companies (constructors) in the State of Pernambuco, Brazil (since 2016). He was invited to become a member of the Real Estate Bar Committee - Brazilian Bar, State of Pernambuco (since 2016). He was also invited to become a member of the Brazilian Institute of Real Estate Law also known as “IBRADIM – Instituto Brasileiro de Direito Imobiliário” (since 2018). Bruno Muzzi obtained his JD from Catholic University of Pernambuco (2005). He holds an LL.M. from Duke University Law School (2018), where he obtained a Certificate in Business Law, and a MBA in Business and Corporate Law from Fundação Getúlio Vargas - FGV (2008). He also holds two specializations (post graduate program) in Real Estate Law, one from Federal University of Pernambuco (UFPE) and the other one from Instituto Brasileiro de Estudos (IBEST).
