Valéria Guimarães de Lima e Silva 

Valéria Guimarães de Lima e Silva was the Association's Director of Academic Affairs for the 2015-2016 Term.  She holds an LLM from Harvard Law School. Previously she was Global Research Fellow at NYU Hauser Global Law School Program. She also held a post-doctoral position at the Oxford-Princeton Global Leaders Fellowship Program (Woodrow Wilson School, Princeton University, and Department of Politics and International Relations, University of Oxford). She holds a Ph.D. degree in International Law from the University of São Paulo, Brazil, an LLM from Harvard Law School, and a Masters in International Law and Economics from the World Trade Institute, Switzerland. 

Valéria worked as Chief of Staff at the Brazilian Antitrust Authority (CADE), followed by a position as Head of its International Department. She was previously a Bluebook Trainee at the European Commission, DG Competition. Valéria started her career as attorney at a well-known Intellectual Property law firm of Latin America, followed by the management of a law firm branch in the city of Rio de  Janeiro. While living in Taiwan she has worked as legal counsel for a local biotechnology company. 

Her fields of research are International Economic Law, Global Economic Governance, Intellectual Property Rights, Competition Policy, Health and Development.
